John Virgo, one of snooker’s most charming and amusing  characters, has gained national fame as the co-host, along with top comedian Jim  Davidson, of BBC TV’s top-rated "Big Break" game show.

Winner of the UK Championship in 1979 and former Chairman of the World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association, John is also a regular  commentator and expert on all of the BBC’s top snooker broadcasts including, of course, the Embassy World Championship.

Since retiring as a full time player, John has emerged as a truly outstanding TV personality.
